Abstract

The article discusses the role of community nurses in supporting the bereaved in palliative care. Topics discussed include palliative care as essential part of a holistic person-centered healthcare system and types of support for the bereaved such as emotional support, informational support and practical support. Also mentioned is funeral as a support mechanism to help the bereaved say their goodbye, pay their last respect and close their own emotional chapter.
