Abstract

A Pew research poll published yesterday found that 73% of respondents did not think that US President Barack Obama’s proposals to reform the National Security Agency (NSA) would enhance privacy rights. Obama on January 17 outlined potential measures to address consumer and business concerns over NSA surveillance operations. The US administration and the NSA’s credibility have suffered since former NSA contractor Edward Snowden revealed extensive US Internet and phone surveillance in June 2013.
