Abstract

The author advises community nurses (CN) about the complexities of emotional pain (EP) in end-of-life settings and offers tips on how to deal with them. Topics mentioned include the components of EP among patients nearing the end of their life including depression and fear of dying, the benefits of palliative care (PC) including the restoration of the patient's hope of comfort, and the importance for CN to use a team approach to providing PC.
