Abstract
The podcast is hosted by world-leading sport scientist, Prof Ross Tucker and sports journalist, Mike Finch. The podcast is in its infancy, but has already delved into some fascinating and contemporary discussion. Topics so far have included explanations of the controversial issues surrounding sex, drugs and athletic performance, running shoe technology, and the realities of being a professional athlete. Ross provides unique insight into these topics and articulates rationale arguments. Ross and Mike occasionally have guests, who are experts in their respective fields; for example, South African cricket coach and former international cricketer, Gary Kirsten and cricket doctor, Dr Janine Gray. The nature of the topics discussed are often complex but having a journalist ask the scientist questions helps to clarify any potential misunderstandings for a broader listenership. This is a unique feature for a sport science podcast. Some of the episodes are available on the Science of Sport Facebook page and Ross Tucker’s YouTube account whereby you have the option to view the dialogue between Ross and Mike unfold. Unfortunately, not all episodes are available. New episodes are available fortnightly and are well worth a listen for any keen sport science enthusiast
