Abstract

In the article, the author discusses the shifting perspectives of palliative and end-of-life care patients, as well as how community nurses can facilitate care to adopt to said perspective shifts. Also cited are the hierarchy of needs as tackled by A. Maslow, the need for hospitals with palliative care services to introduce visiting policies that accommodate the patients' families and friends, and the need to provide self-care and support to healthcare professionals and community nurses.
