This work offers a practical "hands on" approach to helping people deal with the traumatic events surrounding loss, grief, death and bereavement. Real-lfe examples are used to show how certain strategies can have a positive impact upon people experiencing grief. Broad issues are examined, such as breaking "bad news", the problem of collusion, altered body image, and dealing with "sudden death". The authors adopt a "conversational style", supported by theoretical underpinnings, and the text should be of use to those caring for individuals during the complexities and challenges of the grief process
