Abstract

This is the second edition to the best-selling 'Why is it so Difficult to Die?'. This second edition has been re-written and revised to reflect the current policy and developments in the field of palliative care. Although death is the only certainty in life, different people still subscribe to a variety of perceptions about it. This book examines these different attitudes in order to try to make sense of and understand them. It explores the way in which a dying person may wish to cope with his/her death, helping the healthcare professional to understand the patient more fully and therefore produce better quality of care
