Abstract
Whilst the route is ‘assessment only’, the focus of the presentation and subsequent research looks at the role of the professional mentor within the Assessment Only process. Mentor developmental feedback to the Assessment Only Teacher throughout the assessment period adds value and has been linked to good or better outcomes for all Assessment Only Teachers. The presentation touches on the importance of the mentor relationship in the final assessment period and in particular on the impact this relationship has on Assessment Only Teacher attainment against the Standards, and the potential to produce outstanding qualified teachers.
