This chapter examines why parent partnerships are an important aspect of early years provision. It explores research into parental involvement exploring the benefits and challenges of working with parents to promote children’s play and learning. It explores how practitioner’s values can support collaboration and partnership arguing that play, children’s learning and positive parenting go hand in hand. It explores how settings work towards partnership and considers the challenges of moving beyond collaboration through supporting integrated services to develop a shared understanding of play
